Our approach to
Accessibility & AODA Compliance
Accessibility is a legal duty for many Ontario organizations under the AODA, and it is simply good practice everywhere else in Canada. We bring your site up to WCAG 2.1 AA through a full audit, fixes in order of priority and ongoing checks. That lowers compliance risk and makes the site work for everyone who visits.

Common blockers
Where this kind of work usually gets stuck
Problems that show up again and again when we first look at an account. Our plan is built to deal with each one.
AODA obligations you may not be meeting
Many Ontario organizations must meet web accessibility rules under the AODA. We bring your site up to WCAG 2.1 AA and document the work.
Customers who cannot use your site
People with disabilities are a large share of Canadians. An inaccessible site turns them away.
Overlay widgets that do not fix anything
Accessibility overlays do not deliver real conformance. We fix the actual code.
Missing the SEO overlap
Clean, semantic markup helps screen readers and search engines alike. We fix both together.

How we keep the work accountable
Before work starts, we agree on the number that matters most to you. Each sprint is planned against it. You get a short recorded update every week and a dashboard you can open any time, and the senior lead joins every call.
- A senior lead runs your account from day one
- A recorded walkthrough each week and a shared reporting dashboard
- We work inside the tools and CMS your team already uses
- Target ranges written into the agreement before we begin
Our Process
Four stages of Accessibility & AODA Compliance
The same order every time: find the constraint, plan, deliver, then review. Here is what each stage involves.
Audit against WCAG 2.1 AA
We test with keyboards and screen readers and check semantics, focus order, contrast and ARIA. The result is a list of the barriers people actually hit.
Fix the code itself
Repairs happen in the markup and components. Overlay widgets often miss real problems and can create new ones.
Record the work
You get documentation of what was fixed and how the site conforms. That supports AODA reporting in Ontario.
Keep checking
New pages and features get checked too, so conformance does not slip over time.

Fix the barriers in the code
Overlay widgets promise quick compliance and fall short of genuine conformance. We audit against WCAG 2.1 AA with automated tools and manual testing using keyboards and screen readers, then fix the underlying issues: semantic markup, keyboard navigation, focus order, colour contrast, ARIA usage, form labels and alt text. The result is a site people with disabilities can actually use.
- WCAG 2.1 AA audit with manual testing
- Semantic markup, keyboard and focus fixes
- ARIA, contrast and screen-reader checks
- Code-level remediation with no overlays

Meet AODA and related requirements
Under Ontario’s AODA, designated public sector organizations and businesses or non-profits with 50 or more employees must make public websites conform to WCAG 2.0 Level AA, with some exceptions. Organizations in other provinces may have their own rules, and federally regulated organizations fall under the Accessible Canada Act. We work to WCAG 2.1 AA, which covers the 2.0 requirements, and keep records of what was fixed. Removing the barriers themselves is what lowers your risk.
- Work aligned to AODA website requirements
- Documented remediation and conformance notes
- Real barriers fixed in the code
- Ongoing monitoring as content changes

Wider reach and better SEO
Accessibility opens your site to customers others shut out, including older visitors and people with temporary injuries. The same clean structure that helps screen readers also helps search engines understand your pages. We handle both in one project, so the work improves reach, usability and SEO together. Treated properly, accessibility pays back well beyond compliance.
- Reach customers other sites exclude
- Semantic markup that supports SEO
- Easier use for every visitor
- An investment that pays back
