About Us

What you get when we run your IT operations

Infrastructure does not stay healthy on its own. CreateITivity takes over the day-to-day running of your network, servers and software: configuration, continuous monitoring, staged patching and fast remediation, so problems are caught early and your team can stop firefighting.

How we work

  • Your account is run by people who have done this work for years
  • Scope and fees are set against targets, and if we miss them we change the plan
  • A short video update every Friday and reports that follow leads and sales

Pain Points

Where marketing programs usually get stuck

Problems that come up again and again when we review a new account, and what we do about each one.

Your IT lead spends the week firefighting

When one or two people own every router, server and update, planned work loses to whatever broke this morning. Upgrades slip, and the documentation never gets written.

Staff report problems before your systems do

If the first sign of a failing drive or a saturated link is a call from accounting, the monitoring is not doing its job. By then the slowdown has already cost the office hours.

Updates that get skipped or rushed

Patching is put off because the last update broke a business application, or it goes out to every machine at once on a Friday afternoon. Either way you are exposed.

Several offices and no single picture

A head office in Mississauga, a branch in Calgary and staff working from home each end up with their own equipment and habits. Without one inventory and one set of standards, every site drifts.

Our Process

From first call to monthly review

Four stages, each with a clear output you can check.

01

Discovery and baseline

We inventory your network equipment, servers, operating systems and key applications, document how they connect, and record what normal performance looks like so that later alerts mean something.

02

Stabilize and standardize

Risky configurations, missing patches and unmonitored devices are dealt with first. Then we agree on configuration standards and a maintenance window that fits around your business hours.

03

Monitor and maintain

Monitoring runs around the clock, patches move through staged groups, and routine administration happens on a schedule your team can see in advance.

04

Review and plan ahead

Regular reviews go through incidents, capacity trends and ageing hardware, so replacements and upgrades are budgeted well before they turn into emergencies.

01Monitoring only works once you know what normal looks like
Inventory and baseline

Monitoring only works once you know what normal looks like

Most environments hide a few surprises: a switch nobody remembers installing, a server on an operating system that stopped getting updates years ago, a storage volume that grows a little every week. We start with a full inventory and a record of normal traffic, load and storage growth for each device. Thresholds are then set from your own numbers instead of a generic template. An alert at two in the morning points at something that has genuinely changed.

  • Every network device, server and key application listed
  • Normal load and traffic recorded per device
  • Thresholds based on your own readings
  • Unsupported hardware and software flagged early
02Every alert has an owner and a next step
Structured escalation

Every alert has an owner and a next step

Alerts that land in a shared inbox tend to be read by everyone and acted on by no one. Before monitoring goes live we agree on severity levels with you. Some issues we fix and then report. Some we fix only after telling you. A few, such as restarting a production database during month-end close, wait for your decision. Common failures get a written runbook, so the engineer on shift follows the same steps every time and your team hears about it in plain language.

  • Severity levels agreed before go-live
  • Clear rules on what we may change without asking
  • Runbooks written for recurring failures
  • Named contacts on your side for decisions
03Ready for ice storms, brownouts and long weekends
Canadian conditions

Ready for ice storms, brownouts and long weekends

Power events are a normal part of running offices in this country. An ice storm in Ottawa or a summer brownout across the GTA can take a site down without warning, and equipment that loses power abruptly does not always come back cleanly. We watch battery backups where they are connected, set the order in which systems shut down and start up, and check each device once power returns. Statutory holidays and long weekends are covered by the same monitoring, and planned maintenance is kept away from the weeks that matter most to your business.

  • Battery backup status watched where connected
  • Ordered shutdown and restart for each site
  • Post-outage health checks on every device
  • Maintenance kept clear of your busy periods

FAQs

Before you sign

Short answers on cost, timing and how we work with your team.

What does IT operations and administration cover?
The routine running of your infrastructure. That means configuring and maintaining routers, switches, firewalls and storage, looking after physical and virtual servers, applying operating system, firmware and application updates, and monitoring all of it continuously. Alerts follow a structured escalation path, and the documentation is kept up to date as things change.
Will this replace our internal IT staff?
It depends on your size. Many organizations keep an in-house IT lead and hand us the routine administration and the after-hours watch, which frees that person for projects. Smaller offices often use us as their whole operations team. Either way, who owns what is written down at the start so nothing falls between two desks.
How does round-the-clock monitoring work outside business hours?
Automated telemetry checks your devices continuously, day and night. When a reading crosses a threshold, the alert is triaged and handled according to the escalation path we agreed with you: some issues an engineer resolves straight away, others wait for a named contact on your side to approve the next step.
When do patches and maintenance happen?
Inside a maintenance window we agree with you. For Ontario offices that usually means outside Eastern Time business hours, and we adjust for sites in other time zones. Urgent security updates can go out sooner on a separate track once you have signed off on the approach.
We have offices in more than one province. Can you look after all of them?
Yes. Most administration and monitoring is done remotely, so offices in Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia or anywhere else are brought into one inventory and one set of standards. When a physical swap is needed, such as a failed switch, we coordinate it with someone on site or with your hardware supplier.
How does this help with privacy obligations such as PIPEDA?
PIPEDA expects organizations to protect personal information with safeguards suited to how sensitive it is. Quebec's Law 25 and, for Ontario health information custodians, PHIPA add their own requirements. Patched, monitored and documented systems are a large part of showing those safeguards exist. We are not your legal advisers, but we can give your privacy officer the maintenance and change records they ask for.
What happens during a winter storm or a power outage?
Monitoring shows which sites and devices drop off and, where battery backups are connected, when equipment is running on battery. From there we follow the runbook agreed for that site: confirm the cause, keep you informed, shut systems down in order if needed, then bring them back in the right sequence and check each one. Backup and full disaster recovery sit with our security and continuity services.
Do you work with the equipment and software we already have?
In most cases, yes. We start from what is in place. Where something has reached end of support and no longer receives security updates, we flag it and explain the risk, then recommend a replacement with the reasoning. Nothing gets replaced just because it is a brand we prefer.
How do we get started?
With discovery. We inventory your environment, set up monitoring and the access we need, and record a baseline. You then receive a written scope listing what we manage, the maintenance window and the escalation contacts, so both sides know how the service runs before it starts.
