FAQs
Wix questions we hear often
Straight answers to what Canadian clients ask us before they commit.
Can a Wix site compete in search today?
It can. Wix Studio produces clean responsive markup, renders on the server and is fully scriptable through Velo. The ceiling is lower than a custom build for very large sites, but for most local and service businesses the platform is rarely what holds rankings back.
Should we move from the classic Wix Editor to Wix Studio?
Usually, yes. Studio gives us the responsive tools and Velo access that
technical SEO depends on. The move is included in Production, and we protect existing rankings with a URL map and 301 redirects.
Can you add Velo code to the site we already have?
Yes. Velo is the coding layer built into Wix. We use it to write structured data, create dynamic pages, react to Wix Stores events and run server redirects. The code sits in your workspace, belongs to you and stays editable by your team once we finish.
What do you do with our installed Wix apps?
We look at each one. If native Velo code can do the same job with less JavaScript, we replace the app. Core Wix features such as Stores, Bookings and the SEO panel stay. Third-party apps have to earn their place.
Can you bring a site over to Wix from somewhere else?
Yes. We move sites onto Wix from Squarespace, WordPress and custom code. The work covers a URL map, a redirect plan and a page-by-page check that nothing was lost, so search traffic follows the new site.
What are the Wix limits we should plan around?
Some things on Wix are fixed by the platform: hosting, parts of the page bundle and certain URL patterns. Redirect needs beyond the built-in manager call for Velo. We check the current limits against your plans during discovery and shape the site structure around them, so nothing surprises you after launch.
Who holds the Wix account?
You do. We join your workspace as contributors and never take the owner role. Your Velo code and CMS data belong to you and can be exported. Hosting is the one thing tied to Wix, and if leaving ever makes sense we talk it through openly.
Should we choose Wix or WordPress?
For a small or mid-sized site, Wix Studio covers most of what WordPress offers: server rendering, tidy HTML, a structured data panel and Velo for custom work. WordPress pulls ahead on plugin choice, WooCommerce and full server control. We recommend the platform that suits your size and team before we send a quote.
How is a Wix project priced and scheduled?
The Starter review has a fixed fee. A Production rebuild with Studio layouts, Velo markup and dynamic pages is scoped after discovery, and the schedule comes with that scope. You receive a written estimate in CAD, broken down line by line, before agreeing to anything larger.
Do you offer support once the new Wix site is live?
Yes. A monthly retainer can cover publishing, Velo upkeep, ranking checks, vitals reviews after Wix platform releases and regular link-building work. It runs month to month once the build is done, with no long contract.
