About Managed Hosting & Cloud

About Us

What you get when we run your managed hosting

Your applications are only as dependable as the environment underneath them. CreateITivity designs, hosts and runs resilient infrastructure for Canadian businesses: dedicated servers, private and hybrid cloud, redundant multi-region architecture and load balancing that keeps response times steady when demand spikes.

How we work

  • Your account is run by people who have done this work for years
  • Scope and fees are set against targets, and if we miss them we change the plan
  • A short video update every Friday and reports that follow leads and sales

Our Process

From first call to monthly review

Four stages, each with a clear output you can check.

01

Assess what you run today

We inventory your applications, servers, dependencies and data flows, and note where each one is hosted. You get a plain map of what depends on what and where the weak points are.

02

Design the target environment

Dedicated, private cloud or hybrid, chosen per workload. We set the redundancy level, where data must reside and how the environment will scale, and agree the plan with you in writing.

03

Migrate in planned windows

Workloads move in stages, with a rollback path for each one. Cutovers are scheduled outside your business hours (Eastern Time unless you tell us otherwise) and tested before your team logs in.

04

Run, watch and review

We monitor the environment around the clock, handle patching and capacity, and meet with you on a fixed schedule to review usage, incidents and what should change next.

01Hosting that answers the data residency question
Where your data sits

Hosting that answers the data residency question

More Canadian buyers now ask where their information is stored before they sign. PIPEDA does not ban storing personal information outside Canada, but it holds you accountable for it wherever it goes. Quebec's Law 25 asks for a privacy impact assessment before personal information leaves the province. Ontario health custodians working under PHIPA, and many public-sector buyers, write location requirements into their contracts. We design around that from the start. Workloads that need to stay in Canada are placed in Canadian data centres or Canadian cloud regions, such as those in Toronto and Montréal, and backups follow the same rule. The location of every component is recorded, so your next security questionnaire takes an afternoon instead of a week.

  • Hosting location chosen per workload and recorded
  • Backups and replicas kept to the same residency rule
  • An environment map ready for vendor and privacy reviews
  • Room for French-language users and Québec offices
02Assume parts will fail and plan for it
Built for failure

Assume parts will fail and plan for it

Hardware fails, carriers have outages and updates go wrong. A dependable environment is one where none of those events reaches your users. Our high-availability builds sit in tier-rated data centres with redundant power and multi-homed carrier feeds, and they use automated failover so a failed node or site hands over to a healthy one without waiting for someone to notice. We test that failover on a schedule. A plan that has never been tried is a guess.

  • Redundant power and multi-homed carrier connections
  • Automated failover between nodes and sites
  • Failover tested on a schedule, with results shared
  • Single points of failure listed and removed
03The people who built it also run it
One accountable team

The people who built it also run it

Hosting often breaks down at the handoffs: one firm builds the server, another manages the network, a developer deploys the app and nobody owns the whole. CreateITivity also does development and SEO, so the team that hosts your site or platform understands how the application behaves, what slows it down and what a change will affect. You get one point of contact for the environment, one set of documentation and one team answering when something is wrong.

  • Hosting, application and network handled together
  • One contact for incidents and changes
  • Runbooks and credentials that belong to you
  • Fits alongside our IT operations and security services

FAQs

Before you sign

Short answers on cost, timing and how we work with your team.

What does managed hosting include?
We provide and run the infrastructure your applications sit on: servers or cloud resources, operating systems, networking, monitoring, patching, backups and capacity planning. You keep ownership of your applications and data. The exact split of duties is written into the scope before we start.
Can you keep our data in Canada?
Yes, that is a design decision we make with you at the start. Workloads and their backups can be placed in Canadian data centres or Canadian cloud regions, and we record where every component runs so you can answer procurement and privacy reviews accurately.
Does PIPEDA require us to host in Canada?
Not on its own. PIPEDA lets organizations transfer personal information outside Canada, but you stay accountable for it and should tell people it may be processed elsewhere. Quebec Law 25 adds an assessment before data leaves Québec, and many contracts, including health and public-sector ones, require Canadian hosting outright. Your privacy lead or legal counsel should confirm what applies to you.
Should we use dedicated servers, private cloud or a hybrid?
It depends on the workload. Steady, predictable systems with licensing tied to hardware often suit dedicated servers. Workloads that grow or vary suit private cloud. Many businesses end up hybrid, keeping a legacy system on dedicated hardware while newer applications run in the cloud. We make the call one application at a time.
Can you take over hosting we already have?
Yes. We start with an assessment of what is running, how it is configured and what is undocumented. Then we either take over management where it sits or plan a staged move to an environment we run. Nothing is switched off until its replacement has been tested.
Will migrating cause downtime?
We plan migrations so cutovers happen in agreed windows outside your business hours, with a tested rollback for each step. Some systems can be moved with almost no interruption; older ones may need a short maintenance window. You will know which is which before the move is scheduled.
Do you only host websites?
No. We host business applications, client portals, databases, line-of-business software, file services and websites. If it runs on a server and your business depends on it, it is in scope.
How do we see what is happening in our environment?
You get monitoring dashboards for the systems we run, a record of incidents and changes, and a regular review meeting covering usage, capacity and recommended changes. Architecture diagrams and runbooks are kept current and shared with you.
What happens if we decide to leave?
Your data, configurations and documentation are yours. We provide exports, credentials and a handover session so another provider or your own team can take over without guessing how the environment was built.
How does this fit with your IT operations and security services?
Managed hosting covers the platform your applications run on. IT operations covers your wider network, devices and patching, and our cybersecurity and continuity services cover threat protection, backup and disaster recovery. Many clients combine them so one team is accountable for the whole stack.
