Common blockers

Where this kind of work usually gets stuck

Problems that show up again and again when we first look at an account. Our plan is built to deal with each one.

An ageing server in the office closet

The accounting system or ERP runs on hardware past its warranty, in a room without proper cooling or backup power. Every year it keeps working feels like luck.

Cloud bills nobody can explain

Resources were spun up for a project and never turned off. Instances are oversized, storage keeps growing and the monthly invoice climbs without anyone knowing why.

Applications that only one person understands

A custom portal or legacy line-of-business app depends on settings, libraries and scheduled jobs that were never written down. If that person is away, nobody can fix it.

Security questionnaires you cannot answer

A client asks where the application is hosted, who has access and how it is patched. Pulling those answers together takes days and still leaves gaps.

How we keep the work accountable

Before work starts, we agree on the number that matters most to you. Each sprint is planned against it. You get a short recorded update every week and a dashboard you can open any time, and the senior lead joins every call.

  • A senior lead runs your account from day one
  • A recorded walkthrough each week and a shared reporting dashboard
  • We work inside the tools and CMS your team already uses
  • Target ranges written into the agreement before we begin

Our Process

Four stages of Managed Application Hosting & Infrastructure

The same order every time: find the constraint, plan, deliver, then review. Here is what each stage involves.

01

Inventory the application

We list what the application needs to run: servers, databases, storage, network rules, integrations, licences and scheduled jobs, including the ones nobody wrote down.

02

Pick and size the platform

Dedicated, private cloud or hybrid, sized to measured load with headroom for growth. Hosting location is set to meet your residency needs.

03

Build, test and cut over

The new environment is built alongside the old one, tested with your users, then switched over after hours with a rollback ready.

04

Run it every day

Patching, backups, capacity checks and certificate renewals on a schedule, with every change logged and reported to you.

01Match each application to the right kind of hosting
Choosing the platform

Match each application to the right kind of hosting

There is no single best option. A database with heavy, constant load and software licensed per physical core is often cheaper and faster on dedicated hardware. A client portal whose traffic rises and falls fits private cloud, where resources can be added without new equipment. A business with one legacy system and several modern ones usually ends up hybrid. We look at load patterns, licensing, data residency and how much the application is expected to grow, then recommend a platform per workload and explain the trade-offs in writing.

  • Workload-by-workload recommendation
  • Licensing and hardware constraints checked
  • Growth and seasonal load taken into account
  • Hybrid setups that connect old and new systems
02Lift the application out of the closet in stages
Moving without breaking

Lift the application out of the closet in stages

Moving a working system is where most hosting projects go wrong. Before anything moves, we document every dependency: databases, file shares, scheduled tasks, licence servers, integrations with other software and the settings nobody remembered. Each component is rebuilt and tested in the new environment while the old one keeps running. Cutover happens in a planned window after your business day, with a rollback path if a test fails. Your team logs in the next morning to the same application on better infrastructure.

  • Full dependency map before migration
  • Parallel build and testing in the new environment
  • Cutover in an after-hours window
  • A written rollback plan for every step
03Patching, capacity and housekeeping handled for you
Day-to-day running

Patching, capacity and housekeeping handled for you

Once the environment is live, the routine work begins: operating system and firmware patches, certificate renewals, disk and memory checks, log rotation and backups. We do it on a schedule, in maintenance windows agreed with you, and record every change. Resource management is part of that work. We watch how much CPU, memory and storage each application uses and adjust before it runs short, and we flag resources that are paid for but idle so the bill reflects what you actually use.

  • Scheduled patching in agreed windows
  • Capacity reviewed and adjusted before limits are hit
  • Idle and oversized resources flagged
  • Change log and runbooks kept current

FAQs

Before you sign: common questions

Straight answers on scope, timing and how we report.

What kinds of applications do you host?
ERPs and accounting systems, client and partner portals, custom web applications, databases, file and document services and company websites. If your team or your customers depend on it daily, we can host and run it.
We have an application our original developer built. Can you host it?
Usually, yes. We start by documenting how it runs today, including its dependencies and any undocumented settings. If it needs changes to run reliably, our developers can make them, so you are not stuck finding another vendor.
Can you reduce what we spend on cloud resources?
Often there is waste to remove: oversized instances, idle resources and storage nobody uses. We review usage, right-size what is running and show you what changed. We will not promise a specific saving before we have seen your environment.
Who is responsible for what once you host it?
We agree that in writing before we start. Typically we own the infrastructure, operating systems, patching, monitoring and backups, and you own the application content, user accounts and business decisions. Grey areas are named and assigned up front.
Can we keep some systems on-site?
Yes. Hybrid setups are common, especially when a system needs local hardware or has licensing tied to it. We connect on-site and hosted systems securely and manage both as one environment.

Find the weak spots in your systems before they fail

Tell us what you run, where it is hosted and what has gone wrong lately. One of our engineers looks it over by hand and sends back the first fixes we would make, whether or not you hire us. Marketing and development questions are welcome too.
