The service
Our approach to
Local Citations
For any business with a service area, citations are how Google's map pack and AI tools confirm that you are real. We create and correct listings on the major international sources and on Canadian directories such as Yellow Pages Canada, 411.ca and provincial or industry associations, with your name, address and phone number identical everywhere. Mismatched details are one of the few purely mechanical local ranking problems, and fixing them is usually the cheapest item on a local plan.

Common blockers
Where this kind of work usually gets stuck
Problems that show up again and again when we first look at an account. Our plan is built to deal with each one.
Several phone numbers for one location
A call-tracking number in one directory, an old landline in another, a cell number in a third. Google cannot tell which one is right.
Listings created without you
Data suppliers built a profile for your business years ago. Nobody claimed it, so it still shows whatever they started with.
Two listings for the same address
Duplicates split your reviews and photos. Neither does as well as one merged listing would.
Fixes that undo themselves
You correct the address and the old one returns, because the upstream data supplier was never updated and keeps sending it out.

How we keep the work accountable
Before work starts, we agree on the number that matters most to you. Each sprint is planned against it. You get a short recorded update every week and a dashboard you can open any time, and the senior lead joins every call.
- A senior lead runs your account from day one
- A recorded walkthrough each week and a shared reporting dashboard
- We work inside the tools and CMS your team already uses
- Target ranges written into the agreement before we begin
Our Process
Four stages of Local Citations
The same order every time: find the constraint, plan, deliver, then review. Here is what each stage involves.
Backlink Gap Review
A senior analyst compares your backlink profile with the competitors ranking above you and flags harmful links that may be holding you back. You come away with a realistic sense of the gap and what closing it involves.
Targets and Story Ideas
We assemble a checked list of relevant publications, including Canadian trade and regional outlets, and develop data-led story ideas your industry cares about. Prospects are scored on real readership and topic fit, never on a domain metric alone.
Pitch and Place
Our team sends personalized pitches, answers journalist requests and runs digital PR, aiming for placements on sites with genuine editorial review. Link networks and private blog farms are off the table.
Check and Report
Each live link is screenshotted, checked for follow status and added to your dashboard with its referring traffic. A weekly recorded update covers new placements and any ranking changes they help drive.

Start with what is already out there
Most local businesses already appear on dozens of sites they never signed up for, filled from data suppliers, old phone directories and scraped records. Adding new listings on top leaves the errors in place. We begin by finding every existing mention, noting its details and checking whether it is claimed. Corrections and merges happen before anything new is added.
- Search across directories and data suppliers
- Every name, address and phone variant logged
- Duplicates merged or removed
- Upstream suppliers corrected so fixes stick

Focus on the Canadian sources that count
A few big platforms matter everywhere, such as Google, Apple Maps, Bing and Yelp. After those, the useful sources in Canada are local: YellowPages.ca, Canada411, your chamber of commerce or board of trade, provincial and municipal business lists and directories specific to your trade. Blasting your details to hundreds of sites mostly creates clutter you will later pay to clean up. We work the list that fits where you operate and tell you what we left off.
- Major platforms claimed and complete
- Canadian and industry directories that matter
- Chamber, board of trade and association listings
- A written note of what we skipped

Clean listings support rankings; they do not create them
Consistent citations remove an obstacle. The things that move map rankings are a well-built Google Business Profile, steady reviews and pages with real local content. If you have no physical location or service area, you probably do not need this at all, and we will say so.
- Groundwork for local rankings
- Run alongside profile and review work
- Not recommended without a service area
- A maintained spreadsheet you keep
Ground rules
What every placement has to meet
The tests each placement on this service has to pass, and the steps we take if a link later turns bad.
- A named senior specialist leads each account
- Progress shown in live Looker Studio dashboards
- Measured on leads and revenue
